Daith Piercing

The Daith Piercing has been around for over 3000 years but was only named in the 1990's.

The Daith Piercing works for headaches and migraines the same way as acupuncture by stimulating nerves under the skin. The piercing causes the blood vessels around the jewelry to dilate and increase blood flow to the tissues.

People that do not want to go on pain medication usually give the Daith Piercing a try.

The Daith Piercing is placed in the innermost cartilage fold of the ear. When pierced it hits a pressure point associated with migraines and headaches. It is best to get your Daith Piercing in the ear on the side of your head that has the most pain in.

I preform my Daith Piercings with a 12 gauge curved sterilized single use needle. I pass through the inner cartilage section of the ear. I use a 14 gauge horse shoe piece of jewelry to insert in to the ear. It will end up looking like the jewelry is coming right out of the ear canal.

Many clients around the world have reported that Daith piercings have helped improve the intensity of the headache or migraine.

Unfortunately what works for one person may not work for others. If a Daith Piercing worsens the migraine or headaches then remove the jewelry right away and seek medical attention.

The price for a Daith Piercing is $40 including jewelry and all piercing supplies.
